What do Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Zaira Wasim, Mohd Kaif, Soha Ali Khan, Harish salve have in common?

Yes, they are all leading names in their respective fields. But that isn’t the only common thread tying them together. They have all been victims of vitriolic attacks of trolls on social media platforms.
From body shaming to hurling the choicest of expletives, from being labelled names for personal choices to being targeted for speaking out on issues, public personalities are under constant attack in the virtual space.
And this constant abuse is what the apex court is seized of. Reigniting a fresh legal debate, the supreme court today voiced its concerns over abuse of social media with senior jurist harish salve even saying he had deleted his Twitter account while fail Nariman pointed out he was fortunate not to have a twitter account at all.

The Supreme Court even went to the extent of saying that people use social media to disseminate incorrect information about court proceedings even.

The question is it time then to regulate social media.
