DADRI: A mob killed a 50-year-old man in Dadri region of Uttar Pradesh (near Delhi) on Monday night reportedly over rumours that his family had eaten beef.

According to the victim’s daughter, they only had mutton in their fridge which the police has taken and sent it for forensic testing.
The family was residing in the village for more than three decades. The police have claimed to be investigating the matter and on how the rumours over beef initiated.
“We found out that the people beat them because they consumed cow meat. More people will be arrested,” senior police officer S Kiran said.
