3 policemen, 2 terrorists killed in terror attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir

JAMMU: According to the latest reports, three policemen and two terrorists have been killed and 10 are injured in early morning terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua region.

The terrorists are also believed to be holding hostages, it said. The security forces have rushed to the spot.

According to the initial reports, the attackers of the police station came in military uniforms and are three in number.

A heavy exchange of firing has been on for the last hour and a half. The militants opened fire at the Rajbagh police station after 6 AM on Friday.

Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reacted to the incident on Twitter:

These Fidayeen will have walked across the border last night & launched their attack this morning which is the past pattern as well.

Home Ministry is closely monitoring the situation. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Home Secretary to actively monitor the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the terrorist attack The MHA is in touch with the agencies of J&K.

The minister spoke to the DGP of J&K and the heads of other security agencies regarding the terrorist attack.
