Jammu: Congress on Saturday condemned the terror attacks in Kathua and Samba districts, saying such incidents cannot break the resolve of the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir even as it blamed the Centre of being “soft” towards Pakistan.
“Militants by carrying out such acts want to make their presence felt. Their handlers (Pakistan) need to be reminded that such acts cannot break the resolve of the security forces,” senior Congress leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma said today.
Terming the attacks as a “shameful” event, Sharma said Pakistan should instead check its internal affairs and stop supporting these kind of acts.
Further, charging at the Narendra Modi-led Union government, Sharma said, “The central government is not showing any kind of seriousness and is very soft towards Pakistan.”
He added that there have been more than 846 ceasefire violations since the Bharatiya Janata Party formed came to power in Centre.
The regional Congress leader also conveyed condolences to the grieving families of those who have lost their lives in the attack and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and asked the state government to announce relief for those killed and injured in these attacks.
Militants had carried out a ‘fidayeen’ attack in Kathua district yesterday killing three security personnel and two civilians and leaving 10 others injured and earlier today two terrorists opened fire at an army camp on Jammu-Pathankot Highway in Samba district.
