New Delhi: The Election Commission took “suitable and swift” action against hate speeches and poll violations during campaigning for Bihar polls, Chief Election Commissioner Naseem Zaidi said on Sunday.
“It is wrong to say the Election Commission did not act on hate speeches, poll violations. Suitable and swift action was taken,” Zaidi told ANI as counting of votes was under way.
Zaidi said the commission they faced many challenges.
The election to the 243-seat assembly started on October 12 and concluded on November 5.
