NEW DELHI: After their party leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav held an ‘explosive’ press conference amid increasing controversies within the party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) too held a media meet to respond to the allegations raised by their colleagues.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh in his first response to the conference initiated by Bhushan and Yadav said, “Yogendra Yadav ji and Prashant Bhushan have raised many things in a press conference today and they have tried to give an sense that all of us including Arvind Kejriwal are at fault and we did not have the same opinion upon any of the things they proposed.”
He added that Yadav and Bhushan expressed that volunteers should have a say in party decisions, they said party should be brought under RTI to which they agreed.
“The PAC has already decided on some of the five issues raised by Prashant Bhushan, some are being worked on”, Singh said, adding, “We have tried our best to save the AAP family.”
Singh further went on to say that he would request Yadav and Bhushan to stop spreading the wrong things about the party. “I request Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan to end spreading wrong messages among AAP workers and the public at large.”
Taking the discussion further, Singh added that Yadav had planned that all decision be passed through a secret ballot in AAP National Executive Meetings. “He (Yadav) wanted people of his choice to be designated for National Council. He himself gave us a list of people to be nominated,” he said.
