New Delhi: It was a chilly and partly cloudy morning here with the minimum temperature settling at 5.5 degrees Celsius, The Met Office said.
There will be a shallow to moderate fog in some areas. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 20 degrees Celsius, an official of the India Meteorological Department said.
Humidity at 8.30 am was 81 percent.
Friday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 19.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average for this time of the season. The drop in the mercury below normal may have been caused due to the snowfall in the hilly regions of the country.
According to met department office, the western disturbances – storm systems originating from Caspian Sea and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region – would be active again in the hilly regions like Shimla from Saturday evening.
“There are chances of more rainfall and snowfall in the state by Sunday,” a Met official said. So probably the temperature may drop a little more towards the end of the year.
