Five persons have been arrested in a case of gang-rape

New Delhi: Five people, including three Nigerians and two women from Manipur, have been arrested in a case of gang-rape of a young woman here, police said on Thursday.

Police said the crime occurred on Monday night after the two accused women took the 21-year-old victim, hailing from their state, to the rented accommodation of the accused Nigerians in Uttam Nagar in west Delhi.

The victim had come to Delhi for vacations at her brother's house in south Delhi. Police said the victim's brother instead arranged for her stay with his female friend from Manipur.

Police said the accused women were identified as Sorokhaibam Shila Devi, 32, and Priya Thapa, 34.

"We registered a case of gang rape after the victim approached us on Tuesday. All the accused were arrested by Wednesday," a police officer said.
