The AAP has launched a scathing attack on Delhi police and BJP government following the ink-attack on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in a rally on Sunday.
Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia called it an attempt to assassinate the entire cabinet. Sisodia also alleged that Delhi police was part of the conspiracy to attack the CM.
“This was not the first time Arvind Kejriwal has been attacked. The woman was able to throw ink at Kejriwal, talk to TV channels and police was nowhere to be seen,” said party leader Ashutosh.
However, police have denied the charges saying the Delhi CM himself was to blame for the security lapse and was responsible for the attack as he has refused to cooperate with the police several times in the past as well.
“Such allegations are misconceived and unfounded. All security arrangements were in place for the rally by CM”, said Delhi Police Commissioner B.S Bassi.
Kejriwal was attacked yesterday while delivering a thanksgiving speech in a rally. He was expressing his pleasure to the people for making the odd-even vehicle scheme a success.
