Kerala-based ‘beedi’ baron Mohammad Nisham accused in last year’s Hummer hit-and-run case has been convicted after massive fury erupted against him. Mohammad Nisham was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Thrissur in January last year, where he ‘killed’ a security guard under his SUV.

Today the courts found him guilty and he has been convicted under Sec 302A, which is culpable homicide amounting to murder.  The quantum of punishment is yet to be announced.

This incident happened when the security guard of Nisham’s housing society failed to open the gates in time. Mohammad reportedly ordered the security guard to stand in front of the gate and Nisham him down with his Hummer SUV.

Nisham has also been in the news for other incidents of road rage and was earlier arrested after his under-aged son was found driving a Ferrari. The youngster was speeding above 140 kmph in the housing campus. There have been acquisitions that he was being protected because of his political connections in the State.
