KOLKATA: 71-year-old Ranaghat rape victim has agreed to record her statement but on the condition that it would be done in Delhi not in Bengal, said sources.
The CID has agreed to the nun's condition and has moved a Delhi court to record her statement.
According to the sources, the nun will come to Delhi on Monday and her statement may be recorded against the accused.
The CID has proof that the main accused Milan Sarkar, a Bangladeshi criminal was in India for three days after committing the crime and was in touch with two gang members named Habibul and Aslam, sources said.
Earlier, the Punjab police had arrested four men with the help of sketches dispatched by the Bengal police while two people were arrested from Mumbai and Habra in connection with the gang-rape of elderly nun in Ranaghat, West Bengal.
Meanwhile, the state BJP blamed TMC for nun's choice, saying "TMC goons would have dictated her to say what they wanted to be recorded. It is a good decision on her part to record her statement in Delhi."
