Motorbike dents a car

NEW DELHI: In another shocking incident reported from the national capital, a 38-year-old man was beaten to death following an altercation when his motorbike hit a car near Turkman Gate in Daryaganj.

Shahnawaz who was on his way to attend a marriage function on Sunday night on his motorbike with his wife and children seated behind him had hit an approaching i20 car in what the cops described as a minor collision.

The accident invited a heated argument between the men in the car and Shahnawaz.  The men in the car then started to beat Shahnawaz with sticks and iron rods, police informed. Shahnawaz fell unconscious after being hit on head and was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he died.

Witnesses claim that the attackers had even hit Shahnawaz’s wife. 

“A murder case has been registered and the investigations are on. We are examining CCTVs installed in the area to identify the assailants,” a senior police official said.

After the men who attacked Shahnawaz fled the spot, the residents of the area blocked the roads in protest accusing police of not acting on time.

According to the reports, the windows of some cars were burnt smashed and few vehicles were burnt in protest.

Police have been deployed in the area following arrest of some people who allegedly created violence after the road rage incident.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Parmaditya, the police have information about Shahnawaz’s attackers and they will be arrested soon.
