UDAIPUR: A rave party being held at a resort on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway in Rajasthan was raided by the police.
82 people including 16 women were arrested in the raid that occurred on Sunday and many of the accused were caught indulging in illegal activities when the raid was performed at Udai Palace Hotel and Resort by a police team of Goverdhan Vilas Thana, Deputy SP Ranu Sharma said.
According to the police sources, most of the arrested men were Gujarati businessmen who were special invitees at the party and women majorly belonged from Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Agra. Each woman hired through tout running sex rackets was paid between Rs 4,000 to Rs 15,000.
Sent as false customers, two constables entered the party paying fees of Rs. 4, 000 each. After they indicated a signal to their team, the police officials then scaled the boundary wall of the resort and conducted the raid to find numerous scantily clad girls dancing in the party while many guests were found inside rooms in compromising positions.
As guests were caught unsuspecting and few of them even locked their doors from inside to get away from the raid, the cops however, forcefully opened the door and arrested the occupants.
The entire arrested group has been booked under PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act) and other sections of Indian Penal Code. They were produced before a magistrate on Monday.
While the resort owner Pankaj Bansal managed to flee, his wife Nilima Bansal has been arrested, Sharma informed adding, a huge amount of cash (yet to be counted) was recovered from her.
