Indian flag burnt in PoK against crackdown on separatists

MUZAFFARABAD: Protesters including children, rallied under the banner of ‘Pasban-e-Hurriyat’ in Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK and burnt Indian flags on Sunday in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) against crackdown on separatists.

Kashmir has been rocked for the past week by violent protests after a youth was killed in an encounter by the Army at Tral in South Kashmir.

All shops, schools and government offices were shut following the protests in the Kashmir valley as Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani called for a bandh in the valley.

Separatist leader Masarat Alam was arrested from his home in Habbakadal area of the city on Friday morning for waving the Pakistani flags and raising anti-national slogans during a rally on Wednesday and was sent to 7-day police custody.
