Three-storey building collapses after a cylinder explosion in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old boy was killed and 11 others were injured after a three-storey residential building collapsed in New Delhi following a cylinder explosion, police informed.

The incident took place arpund 7:45 AM in Sudarshan Park area of West Delhi’s Moti Nagar killing Anand Shashinath.

“All the people from the building have been evacuated and the operation is still on,” police said.

The deceased as well as the injured including a woman and three children were living in the building on rent, police said.

“It was a three-storey building and it collapsed after an explosion in a gas cylinder. Rescue operation is still on,” a Delhi Fire Services official told IANS.
