MUMBAI: Three policemen along with three others, including a woman, were arrested in Mumbai for allegedly raping and robbing a 28-year-old model inside a police station on April 3.
After two weeks of being raped, the victim finally sent a message to the Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Mania on 21st April and complained about the incident. She alleged that she had been raped by three policemen, along with three others, inside a police station.
The Police Commissioner called her to his office and recorded her statement. After speaking to her, Mania asked the Crime Branch to start investigation.
Later, a FIR was registered against two Police Inspectors, a constable and three others.
According to the reports, the incident occurred on April 3 when she visited a five-star hotel for an audition. After a while, when she came out, some men, identified themselves as policemen, stopped her and forced her to get into their vehicles for questioning.
They allegedly took her to police station in Sakinaka in Mumbai and raped her. The gang then demanded money around Rs. 4.5 lakh from the girl threatening that “If she fails to pay, she will be booked under prostitution charges.” Later, she called up her friend and paid money.
After the incident, the victim got disturbed and left the city for few days fearing harassment, said police.
