MOGA: Four days after a 14-year-old girl died after being molested and thrown off a moving bus in Punjab, her father accepted the compensation and a job offered by the Punjab’s government and also cremated the girl’s body.

The Punjab Nirbhaya’s body was cremated at her village Lande Ke around 8:35 PM on Sunday amid tight security and the last rites were performed by the father.

Facing criticism over the Moga molestation-death case, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal met the family on Sunday evening for 30 minutes. Describing the incident as painful, Badal assured the family of complete justice.

Ending the protests, the victim’s father said on Sunday, “I want to perform the last rites of my daughter and also I accept the compensation and a job offered by the state government.” The government have fulfilled our demands and assured us that killers would be punished, he added.

The braveheart’s father also sought an end to the protest over the incident and said “My daughter has already died and my wife is in hospital. I want a normal life.” He further thanking all who supported him. "Neither government nor any officer has ever threatened me to compromise," he said.
