WEST BENGAL: A fresh explosion has been reported at Brahmanbarh village in Pingla where an explosion in an illegal cracker factory left 12 dead last week. No casualties have been reported so far.

The blast happened when a Left delegation was visiting the area on Thursday. The members of the delegation have strongly criticized the abrupt blast at a village seven days after the first explosion took place in the region.

While the CID considered the previous blast a result of ‘illegal cracker factory’, the locals claimed that the site of the explosion was an ‘illegal bomb making factory’ and not a cracker factory.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday declared a compensation of Rs, 2 lakh each for the affected one in the previous blast.
