ASSAM: Two months after a similar gruesome act in Dimapur of Nagaland, another man, accused of murder, was lynched to death in Rangapara area of Assam on Thursday.
Identified as Nanu Mirdha, the man was lynched by angry villagers after he reportedly beheaded a 5-year-old boy.
The 30-year-old accused had his hands tied and was attacked after the blood-soaked body of the boy was found inside his room.
According to the reports, the accused had an argument with his neighbour over some issue following which he caught his son named Sanatan Bagh and dragged him to his house. He then chopped off the boy's head with a sharp dao (machete).
Following the fatal incident, the police reached the crime scene after about an hour and recovered both bodies from the spot and the weapon used in the crime was also recovered.
Nanu was a drunkard and started doing spiritual activities, said police, adding that they had no initial report on it.
