JAIPUR: ‘Pink City’ has today joined the league of other Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore that boasts of metro connectivity as Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday unveiled the metro rail services in Jaipur.
The latest metro service that completed in four-and-half-years is believed to be one of the fastest-built metros in India.
Ever since the starting of her second tenure, Raje has been disapproving the implementation of the metro project which was the brainchild of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He expected to flag off his dream project by the end of his tenure.
Here are few things you should know about the Jaipur Metro Service:
In the stretch of 9.63 km, the Jaipur Metro line will have nine stations that are built on standard gauge connecting the residential area Mansarovar of Jaipur to business hub in Chandpole.
Passengers on board
The line is likely to carry over 1 lakh passengers on daily basis and total of 10 four-coach trains will be making 131 trips every daily.
On Sundays, the number of trips would go down to 115.
It will run between the two terminal stations at a frequency of 10 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during off peak-hours.
The normal operations will start from 6:45 AM and will continue till 9 PM. However, timings on special days such as festivals have yet not been disclosed by the officials.
The fare for the 9 km metro stretch will be in three slabs of Rs. 5, Rs. 10 and Rs. 15.
