CHENNAI: In what is sure to leave Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) into major embarrassment, its Treasurer MK Stalin has been caught on camera slapping a fellow passenger in Chennai metro. The video of the DMK leader that was captured on Wednesday has gone viral on internet.
The video shows Stalin slapping a party worker, even though the DMK continues to deny charges against its Treasurer.
Chennai Metro that was recently launched has caught the mind of several politicians and Stalin along with the DMDK Founder Vijaykant took a ride in the metro on Wednesday.
The first phase of the Rs 14,600 crore Metro Rail project, the Alandur-Koyambedu sector was flagged off by Karnataka Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Sunday.
Accompanied by his supporters, including former Mayor M Subramaniam, Stalin travelled from Koyambedu to Alandur, while Vijayakant, the Opposition leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, opted to tour from the opposite side with his senior associates.
The DMK leader and son of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi are seen backhanding the passenger in the video that is being widely circulated on the social media.
While the man at the receiving end looks puzzled with the incident, Stalin's office has maintained that the DMK leader was only asking the man who had been trying to edge closer to the politician to get away from woman passengers, and ‘inadvertently touched him’ due to a train jolt.
