Haryana: Nameplates to have daughters' names

BIBIPUR: The efforts of the sarpanch of the Bibipur village in Haryana to save the girl child were recently appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a unique initiative after selfie with daughters contest, all homes in this village are getting nameplates bearing the name of the daughter of the house.

This initiative is also a part of Pm Modi’s ‘Digital India with Laado’ campaign.

The representatives of the panchayat will visit every household in the village and put up the nameplates with the names and email IDs of the daughters of that house, as per the initiative.

The move was commenced by the Bibipur village panchayat by replacing the nameplates of 30 houses.

“This initiative is going to be a historic one for the ‘beti bachao’ movement,” expressed the sarpanch of village, adding that the expenses for replacing the nameplates would be borne by the village panchayat.
