In a shocking incident, police personnel on Wednesday night ransacked a toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura after a toll-barrier hit their vehicle. They thrashed the toll plaza staff and even looted the cash.

The CCTV footage that has surfaced on the internet shows the cops beating the toll plaza staff with a stick and taking out cash from the box.

The incident happened between 11.45 pm and 1 am. The cops arrived at toll plaza and entered lane 13 meant for fast tag vehicles. Since, the vehicle did not have a fast lane tag; the barrier went down and stopped the vehicle from exiting.

The cops got down from the car and started beating the toll plaza staff.

The Agra-Delhi NH-2 toll plaza authorities have filed a complaint against the six police personnel including Mathura Circle Officer (CO), claiming that they looted Rs 40,000 in cash.

When contacted, the CO, Nitin Singh, denied all the charges against him and said he was on patrolling duty when some people approached him and complained that the toll staff was charging extra money.

He said when he went to the toll plaza to inquire about the matter, the toll plaza staff misbehaved with him. He also said that the toll plaza staff hurled stones at him.

However, the CCTV footage clearly shows the cops beating the toll plaza staff and taking out money from the box.
