Purchasing a house in the current economy may prove a daunting task and going after a dream house can cost you a fortune. Proving it right, a plush residential property located in Lutyens’ Delhi was purchased at a whopping sum of Rs 476.50 crore, which made it the most expensive residence in Delhi and NCR.

The bungalow is located in the affluent Lutyens Bungalow Zone (LBZ) which houses one of the most luxuriously sprawling residences in the national capital. The built-up area of the residence is 780 square metre while the entire property covers an area of a staggering 7,143 square metres.

The property located at Prithviraj Road was purchased at a rate of Rs 6.36 lakh per square metre and it should be noted that Rs 22 crore were shelled out on stamp duty alone.

Anushka Singh, grand-daughter of DLF’s chairman KP Singh, is the new owner of the property, which previously belonged to the Air Chief Marshal Pratap Chandra Lal.

Lutyens’ Delhi houses residences of Prime Minister of India and other prominent politicians along with steel tycoon Laxmi Niwas Mittal, Sunil Mittal, CK Birla and many others.
