In a shocking incident, Salma Ansari, the wife of former vice-president Hamid Ansari, has alleged that two unidentified men mixed rat poison in the water tank of a madrassa run by her in Aligarh.

Madrassa Chacha Nehru, that houses 4,000 children, is headed by Ansari’s wife.

Salma alleged that a child of her madrassa went to fill a bottle of water at night when he saw two men mixing something in the tank. She added when the child called them out, they pushed him and ran away and also threatening him to keep his mouth shut.

“The child then alerted the warden. Police was called. Several tablets of rat poison, yet to dissolve, were found in water,” Salma Ansari told news agency ANI.

“Had he not come down and seen them, consequences would have been terrible,” she added.

Salma Ansari said she was shocked to learn about the incident.

An FIR has been lodged in the case under IPC section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 506 (criminal intimidation) against the two unidentified men.
