A shocking incident has been reported from New Delhi where the dead body of a cab driver has been found inside his own car, which is suspected to be a commercial cab. The body has been detected in broad daylight from Mayur Vihar Phase 3 area of the capital. The victim appears to have been strangled to death. Deep scars have been located on his neck which confirms the fact that he was forcefully choked to death.
The cab with the body was located just 500 meters away from the local police station. The deceased driver has been identified as Ajay Kumar, a resident of Ghaziabad’s Gokuldham residential society. Kumar was originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district. According to sources, his body was located inside an OLA cab which was operated by him in Delhi and NCR.
In what appears to be a revenge plot, the driver has reportedly fallen prey to in an honour killing case for marrying against the will of the bride’s family.
Ajay Kumar, who was in a love affair with the daughter of a local resident, had married her on 27th March, 2017. The family of his wife was reportedly unhappy with the marriage and had warned Ajay of dire consequences. They had also threatened him for life according to Ajay’s family.
Ajay’s family have confirmed that there were tensions between him and his wife’s family. However, no solid proof has come to light so far in the case.
Ajay’s body was recovered from his cab, in mysterious conditions, apart from the strangle marks on his neck, there was blood spread over his face which strengthens the fact that he was choked and the blood came out of his mouth due to the excessive force put on his neck.
A FIR has been filed in the case and the police are investigating the case. The body’s detection near a police station raises questions on the security arrangements in the capital.
