Hyderabad witnessed heavy showers of rain on Friday and the traffic was in a major bust up after the downpour but amid all the crisis there was one Traffic policeman who stood strong for the people and guided them on the right directions battling with the incessant rain, standing in knee-deep water. Holding his umbrellas strongly with one hand and signalling instructions from the other, a video of the cop fulfilling his duty drenched in rain has been shared and applauded by thousands on the internet.

As per a report in TOI, Madhapur traffic constable P Narsimhulu was standing determined in the rains opposite Care Hospital at the Biodiversity Junction in Hyderabad signalling directions to the vehicles passing by.

His incredible gesture was captured on a mobile phone by a passer-by from inside his car. Later the car driver shared the video on twitter appreciating the policeman’s determination despite of the tough surrounding, @hydcitypolice this is incredible job guiding us to safety in #rains #hydpolice @KTRTRS @HYDTP salute, the user wrote addressing his tweet to Hyderabad Police and Telangana minister KT Rama Rao.

Hyderabad Police responded to the tweet and thanked the user for his concern.

“ThankYou Dear for the Concern,” read the tweet from Hyderabad Police’s official handle.

“Two-wheelers and four wheelers were afraid of moving as no road was seen. After I stood there, they moved and traffic cleared,” Narsimhulu was quoted saying by TOI. He is a resident of Narsingi Narsingi and a native of Timmareddyguda of Ranga Reddy. His video which has gone viral on the internet has received praises for him from thousands of people.

Hyderabad halted on Friday after witnessing massive rainfall in major areas of the city, including the IT Corridor. Areas like Madhapur, Uppal and Marredpally were widely affected due to the downpour.

Earlier the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning where they mentioned that Hyderabad can witness heavy rains till October 2nd.

“Thunderstorm associated with heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana,” the warning said.
