MANGALURU: In what is believed to be a moral policing case, a 28-year-old man was assaulted by a group of people in Mangaluru for talking to a girl of another community. 
 
A resident of Kulur, victim Shakir worked in a supermarket at Attavar in the city, police informed.
 
According the reports, the boy was almost stripped and tied to an electric police on Monday evening before being massively beaten up allegedly for talking to the girl who along with him worked in the supermarket.
 
Police further informed that Shakir is currently being treated at a local hospital. 
 
An assault and murder case has been registered against the unidentified assailants and the investigations are on. However, 13 people have been detained in the case so far for questioning, they added. 
 
Random moral policing incidents, particularly involving different communities have been reported in Dakshina Kannada district, raising concerns
