NEW DELHI: As promised, Chinese giant Xiaomi has launched its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone, the Redmi 2 Prime priced at Rs. 6, 999.
Manufactured at Foxconn facility on Sri City, the new Xiaomi Redmi is now available for its believers via the online store of the company Mi.com along with other e-commerce partners such as Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal.
While speaking about the specification, not to forget, Redimi 2 Prime is an upgraded version of the Redmi 2 that is presently available in the Indian market at Rs. 5, 999. However, one of the biggest differences the two have is that the former version features 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage whereas the latter boasts of 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage.
Apart from this, most of the other specifications of Redimi 2 Prime are identical to Redmi 2. The dual-SIM standby Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime features a 4.7-inch IPS Sharp display with HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution and 312ppi pixel density.
Supported by Android 4.4KitKat, the latest smartphone from Xiaomi comes layered with company’s own MIUI 6.
Redmi 2 Prime comes with 4G dual SIM functionality where both SIM cards slots supports 4G networks along with LTE bands in India.
The handset runs on a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (MSM8916) united with Adreno 306 GPU.
