In order to mark their 25th anniversary in China, the South Korean telecom giant, Samsung, launched the much anticipated, W2018. The newly launched phone, W2018, marks the entry of new high-end Android flip phone in China by Samsung. The Samsung W2018 is seen as a successor to the W2017 which was unveiled by the Samsung with a dual-display setup and the most loved feature, fingerprint scanner. The new phone by Samsung comes in with a partnership between telecom giant, Samsung and China.
According to reports, the Samsung W2018 was showcased at an event in Xiamen, China last week. The newly launched Android flip phone by Samsung in China has been launched with a totally different set of features. The newly launched Samsung phone has two 4.2-inch AMOLED display panels with full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution. The gorgeous Samsung flip phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which is paired with Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The phone comes with two storage options — 64GB and 256GB. Apart from these two storage options the Samsung W2018 comes with microSD card support which helps in expanding storage up to 256 GB.
The phone is equipped with of Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with a proprietary skin on top and offers Bixby virtual assistant support in Chinese. Apart from this, Android 8.0 Oreo is the latest version offered by Android. The Samsung W2018 also boasts of strong camera. W2018 sports a 12-megapixel camera sensor on the back with a largest, f/1.5 aperture lens. In order to perfect the phone’s image capturing capability, there is also optical image stabilisation (OIS) support to reduce blurs even when the shots are captured with some jerks or shakes. in front, the phone dons a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the front with f/1.9 lens. The back camera sensor also supports 4K video recording, while the front sensor has full-HD (1080p) support.
With W2018, Samsung has opted for a hybrid dual-SIM configuration with two Nano-SIM card options and microSD card support. Reports claim that the smartphone packs a 2300mAh battery and includes a fingerprint scanner as well as a heart rate sensor. The phone also comes with a 3D glass and metal design and is available in 4 colours. Even though Samsung’s W2018 has created a worldwide buzz, the phone still remains exclusive to the Chinese market.
