With the deadlock over the appointment of new BCCI President ending soon, it is reported that consensus have been arrived over the name of Shashank Manohar as the new BCCI President, by the leaders of the two opposing BCCI sections- Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Mumbai Cricket Association President Sharad Pawar.
After the unfortunate demise of Jagmnohan Dalmiya, the BCCI has been burdened with the pressure of finding a successor. (Also Read: BREAKING NEWS: BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya takes his last breath)
Indian Board, at the moment, wants a candidate who has a clean record and is a person of integrity and in this list, Manohar tops it undoubtedly.
There are chances that the name of Manohar could be announced officially within 24 hours.
Since, it is the turn of East Zone and, Amitabh Chaudhury is their candidate of choice for BCCI presidency , it would be interesting to see the reaction of camp on this Pawar-Jaitley consensus.
