In his typical style of taking everyone by surprise, Virender Sehwag who turns 37 today hinted at retiring from international cricket. He said this during a press conference in Dubai while confirming his participation in the Masters Champion League next year. This league requires at all players taking part in the tournament should have retired from international cricket.
However, Sehwag did say that his retirement was not yet official. He said he would return to India and think about it and then officially announce his retirement from all forms of the game. Soon after the news of Viru announcing his retirement plans leaked, his friends and fans began paying tributes to the explosive batsman.

Sehwag has smashed 8273 runs in 251 One Day Internationals (ODIs) at an average of 35.05. With 15 centuries along with 38 crashing fifties, Virender Sehwag has truly turned out to be an Indian cricketer the fraternity would want to cherish and remember forever.
Not only this, what adds to Sehwag’s excellence is that in the 19 Twenty20 Internationals that he has been played, the aggressive right-handed opening batsman managed to score 394 runs along with two half-centuries to boast of.
Sehwag gifted his contribution to two World Cup winning teams under the leadership of Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni – 2007 World Cup T20 in South Africa and the ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
