Saturday’s El-Clasico match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid saw the defensive line of the club crumble against Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Andres Iniesta which stacked up to a devastating 4-0 at full time.
While Lionel Messi stayed off the pitch during the initial part of the game, it was with Luis Suarez’s goal in the 10th minute which set the tone for the match. With a superb pass from Sergi Roberto to the Uruguan striker, Suarez thrashed the ball with a careful swerve into the net. Then, at the 38th minute, Iniesta chipped a pass to Neymar who added another tick to the tally.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid’s much-coveted striker, seemed to be flustered with the game which was in complete control of Barcelona. In the second half of the match, Barca added two more goals with Messi coming on to the pitch at the 57th minute. Though it was Messi’s first game since his September knee injury, the forward managed to perform a brilliant assist which, through Neymar, converted into a goal from Luis Suarez.
Barca’s win increases its lead over Real Madrid in the La Liga standings with six points.
