Rohit smashes a classic ton; India score 309/3 in first ODI

Perth: India posted a massive 309/3 in 50 overs against hosts Australia in the opening game of the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series at the WACA Ground here on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, Indian Captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first.
Opener Rohit Sharma (171 not out) slammed a superb century to become first Indian to score a ton in Perth in ODIs. From the other end, Virat Kohli (91) gave him good support to help team India post a challenging total. Kohli fell just nine runs short of his 24th ton.
India are scheduled to play five One-Day International matches and three T20 matches in this tour.
