MS Dhoni fined Rs 450 for violating traffic rules in Ranchi

RANCHI: As informed by a senior police officer, Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been penalized for violating traffic rule during his short stay in his home town.

A fine of Rs. 450 was slapped on MS Dhoni for defective display of number plate on his motorbike, informed Karthik S, Superintendent of Police (Traffic).

Violating the Motor Vehicles Act, the registration number of Dhoni’s bike was displayed in a vertical manner on the mud guard of the front wheel and the star player of the Indian Cricket Team was charged for violation of Section 179 of the Motor Vehicles Act and Section 50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rule.

Ranchi Traffic Police has launched a drive since March 16 to strictly enforce number plate regulation on vehicles.

As Captain Cool left Ranchi and flew for IPL 8, the SP informed that his team spoke to the family members of Dhoni who agreed to pay fine on his behalf.
