A day after all rounder Indian cricketer Pawan Negi was selected for World T20 squad, the left-arm spinner today became the second most expensive Indian player to be bought at the IPL auction.
IPL team Delhi Daredevils has bought Negi for Rs. 8.5 crores, making him the most expensive player to be bought by an Indian side.
NewsX had spoken with Pawan Negi yesterday after his name was announced for T2o world Cup where he said that he did not expected his name would be announced for T20 world cup. But since his name was there when the team was announced for Sri Lanka tour, he had some expectations.
“I see myself as an all rounder, I am practising, and if I will get an opportunity to play before the World Cup then it would be good for my overall confidence,” said Negi.
Delhi Daredevils has shown the same faith in Pawan Negi as was shown by the Indian Skipper MS Dhoni.
Negi who is a slow left arm spinner and a left-handed batsman hasn’t represented Indian team in any format before. He is a lower order batsman who can fulfil many roles in the team and can be very useful for defending totals.
So far he has only played 3 first class matches and 56 T20s in domestic cricket.
