New Delhi: The Indian men’s as well as women’s cricket teams will be hitting the field in the upcoming World cup Twenty20 Championships wearing brand new kits unveiled by Nike on Thursday.
A clear Asian influence can be seen in the design feature of the new jersey that features a new collar. While four-way stretch pants includes articulated patterning on the knee to withstand aggressive play.
Mithali Raj, captain, Women cricket team says, “Bold with a contemporary stripped motif, the kits express the excitement and responsibility the players feel when representing their country.”
While commenting upon the new jersey Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane said that donning the signature blue is a proud moment for a player who will be representing the country.
“Wearing the kit and playing for the country is an overwhelming feeling, which is impossible to express in words. Whenever I put on the blue, the feeling is altogether different,” he said.
The ICC T20 World cup Men has already begun on March 8 and to continue till April 8, India will play its first match against Pakistan on March 15. The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup Women is to begin on March 15 and to continue till April 3.
Both the teams will be officially using the jersey from March 15.
