Kolkata: India’s ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match was nothing short of that of that winning spirit which has kept India proudly overlooking the bay lately. But much to the dismay of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian fans did not take the gesture in good humour when Dwayne Bravo playfully held Dhoni by his collar.

The match at Eden Gardens where India registered a daunting 185 proved too hard a task for the West Indies batsmen to take. And after the match ended when the players were congratulating each other, Dwayne Bravo initiated a small banter with Dhoni with the former holding the latter by his collar.

It is uncanny for cricket players to banter in the way West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo did, but it is not entirely uncommon in the world of sports. Reputed players often get along well even despite contentious feelings between each other. International tournaments such as the Indian Premier League have massively promoted assimilation of cross-boundary cricket players.

MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo plays in the same IPL team, Chennai Super Kings.
