New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked Shahid Afridi, the captain of Pakistani cricket team to miss the practice session today. He is even asked to avoid the press before the match to avoid media glare.
Shahid Afridi‘s comment “We don’t get such love even from Pakistan” has led to such a situation. A petition has been filed against him in the Lahore High Court on Monday. His comment is considered to be hurting the sentiments of the Pakistanis. Shahid Afridi the latest Pakistan captain is now facing the wrath of angry fans and TRP-driven shows.

Citing that Afridi's comment was pro-India in nature, the Pakistan High Court slammed the cricketer for praising a nation which has always maintained a contentious relation with Pakistan. Afridi's comment, which was purportedly aimed at reducing the hostility between the two neighboring countries, was also slammed by Pakistan team's legendary cricketer Javed Miandad.
"Shame on Afridi," Miandad was quoted as saying. Whether this outlashes by the Pakistan government will be taken sternly or not is entirely upto the Pakistan Cricket Board. After the cancellation of the much-hyped Ind-Pak match in Dharamsala, the player stated that sports should be kept free of politics.
