Lahore: Pakistan national cricket team’s captain, Shahid Afridi, made a public apology over his team’s performance on Wednesday.
Pakistan won only one of the four group matches in the World T20. They had also failed to qualify for the finals of the Asia Cup last month.
There were several acts of violence on part of Pakistani cricket fans due to their team’s performance in the tournament and Afridi was known to have been planning his retirement.
The PCB chairman Shahryar Khan had hinted at changes in the team and the board has since formed a special committee to monitor Pakistan team’s performance.
