It looks like ‘The Wall,’ Rahul Dravid is all set to make a comeback in the Indian cricket team but in a new avatar.
Indian cricket board’s advisory committee, comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and  VVS Laxman, has approached batting legend Rahul Dravid for taking over as coach of the senior team. Dravid is already in charge of the Indian under-19 squad for almost a year now.
The ever dependable batsman was asked about his availability if such a proposition were to be made in the near future. In the past Dravid had shown his keenness on coaching the senior Indian cricket team. Other legends such as Tendulkar and Ganguly have never been so keen on coaching which leaves Dravid as a viable option and gives him a very strong ground to back his chances of becoming the coach for the team.
BCCI has made it clear that they want an Indian coach for the team, as the series of foreign coaches that they have had, may have yielded results but have brought a lot of controversies as well. Also in the opinion of BCCI, Rahul is a fit man for the position and has support of the other senior players who have brought a lot of glory to India in the past.
Rahul Dravid is a player with a perfect record and holds a respectful position in the hearts of the entire nation and the cricket fraternity all over the world.
