New Delhi: Harsha Bhogle, one of the most renowned faces for cricket in India will not be seen voicing his opinion in the ongoing season 9 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will not be seen in season 9 of the extravagant T20 festival.
Harsha Bhogle’s association with cricket in India goes back to mid ’80s. The 54-year old has also been part of IPL since the inaugural season in 2008.
As per reports, just a week before the commencement of IPL 9, Harsha Bhogle’s IPL contract was abruptly terminated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The decision came as a surprise for Bhogle as he had conducted the season 9 draft auction, featured in the league’s promotional videos. He was also a part of the 51 day-long roster.
Even though Sony Network holds the telecast rights of IPL, the BCCI controls its production.
BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur and IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla refused to comment on this matter.
