Mohali: Chasing a total of 153 runs, the Kings XI Punjab started off well after Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra went for an opening partnership of 97 runs. However, after losing Miller’s wicket, it felt like they were in trouble but it was Glenn Maxwell’s 32 runs innings which helped Punjab lodge their first win in this season of IPL
Losing both their opening games, the Kings XI Punjab were desperate to lodge their first win against Dhoni’s Rising Pune Supergiants, which they finally managed to do today.
Even though the team went in to play with their ‘M3Power’— Maxwell, Marsh and Miller, only Maxwell managed to contribute to the win.
The Supergiants who have also one win in their kitty are now on the same level as the Kings.
In their opening game in Mumbai the RPS had defeated the Indians, but they couldn’t carry on the momentum against Gujarat Lions.
We’ll have to wait and watch how Dhoni’s men perform in their next encounter against the RCB in Pune.
