Bengaluru: Sarfaraz Khan on Wednesday said that Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has given him an advice – to play according to the situation of the match.

Sarfaraz hit an 18-ball-28 in a losing cause for RCB against Mumbai Indians who won by 6 wickets in the match played on Wednesday.

Sarfaraz also said that he had realised the mistakes he made in the previous Indian Premier League season and is making sure those are not repeated.

“I have learnt a lot from my mistakes I made in the last season. Then I got an opportunity to play in the U-19 World Cup under Rahul (Dravid) Sir which helped me a lot. I am gaining more experience this way, playing under these cricketers. Shane Watson has been of immense help too,” he said.

He also said that even though he has been given the freedom to bat as he desires, he is willing to be more mature about it and bat as per the team’s requirements instead.
