Spain: Real Madrid might have triumphed over Villarreal 3-0 on Thursday but the victory came laced with concerns over the fitness of their star winger Cristiano Ronaldo who failed to finish a game for the first time this season.
Ronaldo was clearly seen in discomfort after attempting an overhead kick towards the end of their clash Villarreal raising concerns over his availability for the semi-final clash of the Champions League against Manchester City.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, however, tried to play down the concern stating the injury was nothing serious.
"Cristiano felt something at the end. He went off because he wanted to know what it was," Zidane said.
He added, “Now I am calm. I wasn’t when it happened. And I will be calm tomorrow.”
Ronaldo is expected to undergo a few tests on a possible thigh injury before any decision can be taken.
