Kings XI Punjab removes David Miller from the position of captaincy

Mohali: At a time when Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 in its full-fledged continuation, all is not well for Kings XI Punjab after skipper David Miller was axed as the captain of the team. The charge of the team has been handed over to Murali Vijay.
The decision came after the team lost its last match against Gujarat Lions who are currently standing at the top of the table.

“The batsman’s batting form was getting affected because of the added responsibility,” Assistant Coach Sanjay Bangar said while defending his team’s decision.
"We felt that David Miller's batting was suffering because of extra responsibility of leading the side and the decision was made just to free him from the extra burden of captaincy," Bangar told media.
So far in the tournament, the South African player Miller has played 6 matches and only scored 76 runs.
Punjab which has made to the finals in the IPL 2014, has only been able to win just one match out of total six played. The team registered their only win against Rising Pune Supergiants.
