Madrid: After missing three games due to a thigh injury, Cristiano Ronaldo resumed training with the Real Madrid squad ahead of their crucial Champions League second leg semi-final against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Ronaldo had limped off the field in the dying stages of Real’s 3-0 win over Villarreal on April 20. It was the first game CR7 did not finish for Real this season, which has otherwise been phenomenal for the Portuguese spearhead.
Ronaldo, this season’s highest scorer in the Champions League (16 goals in 10 appearances), had missed the first leg of Real’s battle against Manuel Pellegrini's men at the Etihad Stadium that ended goalless.
Manchester City, who entered the semi-final stage of the Champions League for the first time ever, will now travel to the Bernabeu in the hopes of progressing to finals.
