IPL 2016, Kolkata vs Pune

Kolkata: Rising Pune Supergiants after winning the toss, elected to bat first against Knight Riders in Eden Gardens. However, under pressure Pune which hasn't performed that great in the tournament so far, was not able to put up a high scoring innings against Kolkata as its scorecard was crawling. They were 103/6 in 17.4 overs when the rain spoiled the game.

Later, when the game resumed after rain, according to Duckworth–Lewis (D/L) method, Kolkata required 66 runs in 9 overs. Knight Riders, who have so far enjoyed a good run the tournament and is at second position on the points table, achieved the target in just 5 overs.

Aiming for 66 off 54 balls, Kolkata in its very first over lost both their openers skipper Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa, but riding on Yusuf Pathan's 37 off 18 balls and M Pandey's 15 off 10 balls, helped Kolkata to claim the victory over Dhoni's Supergiants.
