New Delhi: Indian pugilist MC Mary Kom has failed to qualify for Rio Olympics 2016 after losing in the second round of AIBA Women's World Championships in Astana.

Kom’s dream for a second Olympics appearance disappeared after the five-time World Champion was beaten by Azize Nimani of Germany 2-0 in the bout.

Olympic bronze medallist Mary Kom, on Thursday, romped over Juliana Soderstrom of Sweden in the first round of the Women’s Boxing World Championships. The ace Indian boxer won the bout 3:0.

Sarita Devi and Pooja Rani are hoping to qualify for the Rio Olympics 2016.
