Abhinav Bindra to lead the Indian contingent

New DelhiAce shooter Abhinav Bindra on Friday was chosen to be the flag bearer for the Indian contingent in Rio Olympics. The Indian shooter is a World and Olympic champion in the 10 m Air Rifle event.

After winning the gold in the 10 m Air Rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Bindra became the first Indian to bag an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games.

In May 2016, the Indian Olympics Association (IOA) appointed Abhinav Bindra as the Goodwill Ambassador for Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Olympic gold medallist Bindra holds a B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business Administration) from the University of Colorado, US. He is the CEO of Abhinav Futuristics, the sole distributor of Walther arms in India.

Abhinav has sponsorship tie-ups with Samsung and BSNL.
